The rise in prices and the increasingly stringent emissions standards can be compensated through enhanced energy efficiency. This is best achieved by increasing the insulation of buildings. On the European level, increased insulation results in annual savings of up to 270 billion euros, as buildings account for 40 percent of the total European energy consumption (Ecofys studies II to V for Eurima).

Fibratus cellulose wool is manufactured sustainably from recycled paper. The production process requires very little energy. Fibratus cellulose wool binds the carbon present in wood fibres for its entire useful life, which further reduces the carbon footprint of housing. In addition, Fibratus cellulose wool can be reused as a thermal insulation or as a soil conditioner.
